Mračna bajka Oblik vode (The Shape Of Water) meksičkog reditelja Giljerma del Tora nominovana je u 12 kategorija za filmsku nagradu Britanske akademije filmskih nauka i umjetnosti (BAFTA)

Britanska ratna drama Najmračniji čas (The Darkest Hour) i američka komedija Tri plakata izvan grada (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) imaju po devet nominacija, a Blejd raner 2049 (Blade Runner 2049) i Dankirk (Dunkirk) po osam.

Sali Hokins u Obliku vode i Frensis Mekdormand u Tri plakata izvan grada među nominovanima su za glavnu žensku ulogu, a favoriti za glavnu mušku ulogu su Danijel Dej Luis u drami Fantomska nit (Phantom Thread) i Geri Oldman za portret Vinstona Čerčila u Najmračnijem času (The Darkest Hour).

Oblik vode, pobjednik ovogodišnje Venecije, nominovan je i za najbolji film, a Giljermo del Toro za režiju i za scenario.
